AMMA Therapuetic Model
AMMA Therapuetic Model
Our approach is built on four values — safety, nurture, empowerment, and excellence — and brought to life through the A.M.M.A. Model: Attune. Model. Maintain. Advocate.
Every staff interaction is guided by this framework, ensuring young people receive consistent, trauma-informed, attachment-based care from the people around them — not just in planned sessions, but in everyday moments.
A — Attune We show up emotionally present. Using the PACE approach — Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy — our staff notice, listen, and respond in ways that help young people feel seen and understood.
M — Model Children learn through relationships, not rules. Our team model emotional regulation, kindness, and honesty in everything they do, becoming the living example of what healthy relationships look like.
M — Maintain We maintain safety, structure, and consistency. Predictable routines and clear boundaries create the security that traumatised young people need to begin to trust — and to heal.
A — Advocate We are each young person's voice. We champion their needs, protect their story, and celebrate every step of their growth — however small.
Underpinning the model is an integrated therapeutic framework combining Trauma-Informed Care, Attachment Theory, PACE, and our Key-worker Centred Therapeutic Parenting (KCTP) approach — ensuring every young person has a trusted, emotionally available caregiver at the centre of their care.

Therapuetic Parenting
Therapuetic Parenting
At AMMA, therapeutic parenting isn't a programme — it's embedded in our culture. Key staff build deep, consistent relationships with young people, offering the kind of secure attachment typically found between a child and their primary caregiver.
Before a young person arrives, their key worker is already thinking about them — their room, their likes, how they might feel walking through the door for the first time. Every decision is made collectively, every boundary is set with care, and every interaction is guided by the child's emotional age, not just their chronological one.

Biopsychosocial Rationale
Biopsychosocial Rationale
We understand that behaviour is communication — shaped by survival, not defiance. At Aslam House, we support young people with complex mental health presentations, neurodiversity, and associated risk-taking behaviours, meeting each person with safety, compassion, and understanding.
Our team receives ongoing specialist training and works alongside Allied Healthcare Professionals to deliver evidence-informed interventions — from sensory assessments to play therapy. Care packages are fully bespoke, built around the whole person: their physical needs, psychological wellbeing, and life history.

We use the BERRI assessment tool to track and celebrate each young person's progress across five domains: Behaviour, Emotional wellbeing, Relationships, Risk, and Independence.
BERRI gives our team a clear, measurable picture of each young person's journey — identifying strengths, flagging areas for growth, and ensuring every intervention is purposeful. It drives a culture of continuous reflection, helping us stay responsive as needs evolve and milestones are reached.

From first steps to lasting change, these numbers reflect the impact of why we care so much about giving our young people the best shot at life.
